Build your first study
Describe what you want to learn, review the setup, and run your study. Here’s a meal-kit example to show you what to expect.
01Describe your idea
Explain your product, who it’s for, and the decision you’re trying to make. Include the details someone would need to evaluate it.
Get help writing a brief
Example brief
We’re developing a meal kit with pre-portioned ingredients and recipes that take 20 minutes. We want to understand whether adults who cook at home would find it useful, which benefits appeal to them, and what might put them off.
InstaSights uses your brief to draft a study you can edit.
02Choose who to research
Review who qualifies and which audience groups you want to compare. Your study uses simulated consumer responses, with no participants recruited.
How the research works
Example audience
- Qualifying question
- Do you cook dinner at home at least twice a week?
- Include
- U.S. adults who answer “Yes”
- Study size
- 250 simulated consumers
- Compare by
- Age
03Edit the questions
Check the wording, answer options, and what each question will help you learn. A standard study includes up to 10 questions.
For this concept, you could ask about usefulness, expected cooking frequency, and reasons someone might choose another option.
Example agreement question
This meal kit would make weeknight dinners easier.
- Strongly agree
- Somewhat agree
- Neither agree nor disagree
- Somewhat disagree
- Strongly disagree
Example question only. This page does not collect answers.
04Run the study and read the results
Confirm the purchase or use of a study credit before the simulation starts. Once it finishes, read the summary, inspect each question, and compare your selected audience groups.
